The Woodlands Texas
A community where residents can live, work, play, study, and discover peace with nature is a vision shared by its founder, George P. Mitchell. It was in 1974 when he created a new town with a high quality of life outside of the metropolitan context. He intended for it to have business centers, parks, golf courses, shopping malls, schools, and homes in Texas ranging from modest up to expensive to enormous. The initial development plan integrated the environmental design concepts championed by Ian McHarg, a renowned landscape architect, teacher, and author of the pioneering work, Design with Nature.
The Woodlands is a master-planned community with both average and luxurious homes in Texas. Though covered in thickly forested areas, there is some restored forest left in place for aesthetic and shade reasons. The Woodlands is included in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan region. It is located in Montgomery County Texas, which extends into Harris County, approximately 28 miles (45 kilometers) north of Houston. The area measures 285,000 acres and is primarily flat. There are around 119,000 inhabitants in the neighborhood, as well as approximately 2,200 businesses and 66,000 employees. So we can say that when finding homes in Texas, most people flocked over The Woodlands.
