Humble Texas, located 17 miles north of Houston, is in Harris County. The city’s inhabitants live in the Houston metropolitan region. In the early 1800s, the city of Humble was founded. In 1828, Joseph Dunman paid a visit to the region and is said to be the city’s first settler. Pleasant Smith “Plez” Humble, one of the early settlers who eventually became the justice of the peace, was the inspiration for the community’s name. Oil was originally produced at Humble Texas in the early 1900s, and it quickly became a major oil boomtown. In 1904, the city’s first railroad arrived. In 1933, Humble Texas became a legal entity.

Humble Texas is part of the Humble Independent School District, which began with a single one-room schoolhouse over a century ago as Harris County Common School District No. 28. Humble ISD, which now has 45 schools, over 48,000 students, and over 7,000 personnel, is also widely known for the excellent education it provides to kids.

Humble ISD is one of Texas’ top 25 fastest-growing school districts, and it is the state’s 24th biggest district. On Aug. 15, the Texas Education Agency announced its performance ratings for school districts across the state for the 2018-19 school year. For a student enrolment of 43,441, Humble ISD scored a B, or 88 out of 100.
